Fused Glass and Copper Road Runner Coasters |
Clear iridized Bullseye glass with Streamers and artistically cut copper are fused together to create beautiful handcrafted, as well as functional coasters. The road runner is hand cut from fine milled copper, then they are placed between layers of thin glass and kiln fired at upwards of 1500°. The glass is then slowly brought back to room temperature, thus annealing the glass to avoid any strain in the glass. The top of these coasters have a very smooth, iridized, surface making a perfect resting place for that warm cup of tea or an evening nightcap. They clean up well with a damp cloth. The coasters come in sets of four, and include a slotted red oak stand protected with 3 coats of polyurethane. Each coaster is 3.5" by 3.5", and has 3/8" vinyl "bumpers" on the bottom to avoid scratches on finished wood surfaces. |
